With over 17 years of IT hardware supply chain resources

Today we have the privilege of covering a special event, the Intel Xeon D-2100 series launch. As we have been doing, this will be the hub of our coverage of the new chip series previously codenamed Skylake-D. The Intel Xeon D-2100 series is targeted at edge computing applications where lower power, smaller form factors, and higher density is required. Essentially, deployments where the Intel Xeon Scalable is too big and the Intel Atom C3000 is not powerful enough. Intel has made major improvements to the line that we wanted to cover in-depth. As a result, we have a number of pieces focused on the new embedded processor family. mz7km1t9hajm-00005

Final Words

At STH, we will have more coverage in the coming weeks/ months, so stay tuned to STH for more information. Embedded products are always interesting to cover as the launch period is often filled by months if not years of innovating on form factors and applications. Many embedded OEMs take a long period of time to test the market and qualify designs before jumping to a new generation. As a result, we see more innovation in the platforms two or three quarters after launch than we typically do on the mainstream server side. At STH, that means plenty of items to cover this year.
